Our course "Workshop learning to cook like a pro in 5 lessons, from the basics to desserts for children aged 15 to 17" was designed to help them develop autonomy and skills in the kitchen that will accompany them in adult life.
It was born from the experience of our Summer Campus weeks dedicated to this range for those who do not have the opportunity to participate in the summer period, but also to give continuity during the year to those who have already participated in this week and want to further deepen the technique.
Lesson 1: Sharpen the Blades! The Basics of Cutting and Recipes
The first lesson is dedicated to cutting techniques and the preparation of basic recipes. Learning how to handle a knife safely is an essential skill. The kids will learn to cut vegetables, meat and fish, preparing appetizers, soups and seasonal salads. It is the perfect starting point for gaining confidence and dexterity in the kitchen.
Lesson 2: The Great Italian First Courses – Risottos and Fresh Pasta
This lesson focuses on traditional Italian first courses. The kids will discover the secrets to preparing a creamy risotto, they will learn how to make fresh pasta from scratch, they will learn how to correctly cook various types of pasta and they will explore the secrets of cult condiments such as Carbonara and pesto.
Lesson 3: Second Courses – Meat, Fish and Vegetarian Options
The third lesson is dedicated to second courses , offering a balance between meat, fish and vegetarian options. The kids will learn to prepare meat-based main courses, cook a fish dish and discover a creative vegetarian recipe. This class will provide useful skills for preparing balanced and nutritious main dishes.
Lesson 4: Leavening and Bread Making at Home
There's nothing better than baking your own homemade bread. During this lesson, the kids will discover the principles of leavening and how to prepare pizza, focaccia and piadine at home. They will also learn to manage leavening times and work the dough to obtain perfect results.
Lesson 5: Sweet Temptations – The Basics of Pastry Making
The last lesson is dedicated to the world of pastry making. The children will learn to prepare the basics of pastry making such as shortcrust pastry, custard, chocolate cake and ganache. They will be guided in the decoration and presentation of desserts, acquiring skills to impress friends and family.
The workshops last 5 hours and include lunch with what has been prepared or tastings to take home.
- For greater effectiveness they can be purchased as a course at a discounted cost but there is also the possibility of purchasing the individual lesson.
